Real Time Information 2012-13 end of year penalties explained.

Employers who have not submitted a final Full Payment Submission (FPS) or Employer Payment Summary (EPS) for 2012-13,will start receiving penalty letters from Tuesday 25 June 2013. To ensure that employers who took part in the pilot scheme are treated in the same way as non-pilot employers, HMRC will apply from 19 May 2013. As the deadline of 19 April 2013 has passed for submitting a final FPS, pilot employers should instead submit an Earlier Year Update (EYU) to make their final 2012-13 report.

Construction Industry is on the rise in the North

Building work in the Northern region is on the rise according to the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF).

The latest figures show sales of building materials in the Northern region rose by 1.9 per cent for the three months from December to February, compared with the previous period.

The Northern region outperformed the BMF's national sales index, which shown a 3.7 per cent drop between last two quarters.

BMF secretary Peter Matthews said: "It is clear construction output remains fragile, which leads to pretty volatile trading conditions around the country."
