FMB urges greater investment in the Construction Industry

The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has called on the government to provide additional investment and lending for CIS contractors and other companies in the UK construction sector.

Brian Berry, director of external affairs for the organisation, recently suggested his group would like to see more money pumped into the Construction Industry. "We know that for every £1 spent on construction, there is a return of £2.84 so the government would actually be getting a big boost from a limited amount of funding in the construction industry," he said.

Mr Berry claimed a vital step in stimulating the construction industry is to increase financial liquidity, which will encourage banks to start lending to businesses once more.
